Sensory-friendly haircuts:
Calm environment: Lights are softer, noise (like clippers or blow dryers) is minimized or introduced slowly.
Preparation and communication: The stylist explains each step before doing it, and may show the tools first.
Choice and control: The client can take breaks, wear headphones, or skip certain tools (like clippers).
Gentle handling: The stylist avoids sudden movements or unexpected contact.
Desensitization options: Sometimes, appointments are short practice visits where the client just explores the salon without a cut.
*my haircuts usually take 45 min. I do however allow for longer appts with an extra price, for every 15 mins after the 45 mins. I will charge $10.00 for every 15 mins
